2020 Program Schedule for the Ottawa County Genealogical Society

All meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Ida Rupp Library in Port Clinton. Field Trip times to be determined.

ALL OCOGS PROGRAMS FOR 2020 HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. WE HOPE TO RESUME IN MARCH 2021. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR DETAILS.

March 17, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 -“Member-Helping-Member” members can bring questions and/or laptops to show and ask for help with brick walls or how to do something they are not familiar with.

April 21, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 – (WILL TRY TO RESCHEDULE FOR 2021 PROGRAM YEAR)  “Breaking Down Brick Walls” – William Priest, nationally known genealogist and speaker from Lucas County will be the presenter.

May 19, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19- “The Toledo, Port Clinton, and Lakeside Railway” RESCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 15 MEETING

June 16, 2020:  CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 -“Everything You Wanted To Know About the DAR”  – Heather Reichert of the Fremont DAR will be our presenter. HOPE TO RESCHEDULE FOR 2021 PROGRAM YEAR.

July 21, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19  FIELD TRIP – To the newly remodeled Harris-Elmore Library in Elmore.

September 15, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 “The Toledo, Port Clinton, and Lakeside Railway” – John Liske and Dick Martin, co-authors of the Images of America book on Oak Harbor, will share their research on this inter-urban line which once crossed Ottawa County”.

October 20, 2020:  CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19“Find A Grave Update” – OCOGS member Connie Starnes will give us an update on her work with Find-A Grave.

November 17, 2020: CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19“Ladies of the Club – Your Ancestors and Their Social Groups”  – Tom Neal, Ohio Genealogical Society Library Director, will  be the presenter.
